My School Child Care & Kindergarten Lead Educators
I extend a warm welcome to My School Child Care & Kindergarten - Mt Cotton, Hello my name is Miss Christie. I am the Lead Educator in the Jnr Kindy 1 room and the Assistant Director.
I have been in childcare for over 13 years. I started out as a trainee and that’s where I found my passion for children, from there I studied my diploma and once completing that I stepped into an assistant director role which was a great learning opportunity for me.
I have a daughter of my own, she has just turned 2yrs old. She decided to come a little early and spent some time in hospital which has given me a strength I never knew I had.
My personal philosophy is that I believe every child deserves the right to learn and grow at their own pace, every child is different and unique in their own way which makes each and every child special. I believe teaching children the things that they need for life and reaching those important milestones are a vital part of learning.
Learning in an open ended and supportive environment helps children to grow and become shaped into the person they will grow into. I like to follow the Reggio Emilia philosophy which values the child as central to their own learning, not simply an empty vessel waiting to be filled with knowledge. Children are able to pursue their own interests and revisit and build upon ideas at their own pace.
I take pride in connecting with every child in my care and giving them the love and support they need to grow and learn. I believe each child should be encouraged to follow who and what they want to be.
I believe I am here to guide the next generation to become someone special.
I look forward to meeting you and your children and looked forward to becoming an important part of your child’s life at My School.
Hi, my name is Miss Ash, Toddler One Lead Educator at My School. I have been an Educator for almost 16 years and has a vast amount of experience in all age groups. I implement an amazing Toddler program ensuring our Toddlers are full of wonder and curiosity as they investigate and explore their world.
"Play based learning is essential as it is through play that a child questions, discovers, pretends, invents, tests hypothesis, learns by making mistakes and determines who they are. What emerges from the child can be complex or simple and intriguing.
I support children as they embark on a journey to make discoveries about themselves in a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning and feel free to express themselves"
Hello my name is Miss Rante, the Lead Educator in Nursery
"I believe a child that is feeling safe, secure and loved will have the ability to grow and learn in an environment that provide opportunities."
My favourite quote:
The challenge of parenting (and teaching) lies in finding the balance between nurturing, protecting and guiding, on one hand; and allowing the child to explore, experiment, and become an independent, unique person, on the other – Jane Nelson
I studied my degree in early childcare in South Africa (Bprim Ed Pre-Primary) and started working in the Education industry full time since 1995. I also have a post degree in educational management (bed educational management)
I have worked with various age groups over the years and I think this has enabled me to gain experience and insight in education as a whole.
I am passionate about education and enjoy being part of the learning journey each child is on.
I have a family of my own with 3 children, 2 dogs and 1 husband.
I look forward to meeting you and your children at My School.
I have been with my partner since high school and we have three boys, Zac, Kobey and Hayden. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my son’s play cricket. In our down time as a family we enjoy going camping.
I have been in childcare for 14 years. Being an early childhood educator is a rewarding and fulfilling career. I feel privileged to be able to care for young children and watch them grow and develop at My School. I have a real passion for educating and nurturing young children. I feel I can help new parents with my knowledge and own personal experience as a parent. I firmly believe every child should feel safe, secure and supported.

My School Child Care & Kindergarten Early Childhood Educators
My name is Miss Paige, I am currently working in the Toddler One room at My School. A little bit about me... I am 20 years old; I have been working in the early childhood sector for 3 years. I got into early education because I have always wanted to work with kids. I love being able to be a part of them learning something new. I enjoy watching them form friendships and bonding with their educators. In my free time I love to care for my two horses, as my dream is to one day teach children to ride.
My name is Cherie Leahy,
I am 26, I have my Diploma in ECE and am currently studying my Bachelor of Education, (0-8Years).
I have been working in childcare for 4.5years.
I am very passionate about childcare, building relationships with the children at My School and watching them children grow and flourish into confident, independent people is definitely one of the most rewarding feelings in the world.
Hello, my name is Bree,
I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Early and Primary Education, and I have been working in childcare for roughly 4 years. I am a sister to 3 boys, an aunt to 7 children, and my greatest role is being a mum. My son, Eli, is 7 years old and the reason why I started working in the childcare industry. I have always loved being around children, however, becoming a mum made me realise just how much I love children and want to protect, guide and teach them. I believe every child is important and special in their own way. Throughout my experiences as a mum so far, I have endured some unfavourable situations which made me think how that would never happen if I was actually there. I aim to ensure every child in my care feels loved, secure, and supported throughout their growing journey through life at My School.
Hi, my name is Mel and I have been with My School since the second week of opening.
I became an Early Childhood Educator because I have always been around young children, growing up with family friends who had younger children, always looking out for and caring for the younger children. This made me realise that working with and educating children, was going to be my career path. It is such an amazing and rewarding feeling to know that you are supporting children through some of the most important years of their lives.
I have 2 children of my own, Harper who is 3 in January, and Elliott who will be 2 in February, and they both attend My School with me. So please feel free to come say hi.
