The Early Years Count (Updated for 2026)
At My School Child Care & Kindergarten, we are passionate about delivering high-quality early childhood education, knowing that the early years are a critical period in your child’s development. Research shows that 90% of a child’s brain development occurs in the first five years, making this a crucial time for learning. Our programs are designed to harness this vital phase, giving your child the best start in life through nurturing, enriching, and carefully planned experiences.
The Early Years Count
We are proud to align our philosophy with The Early Years Count initiative, a Queensland Government program designed to support parents, educators, and communities in recognising the importance of early childhood development. This initiative provides essential resources for families, offering insights and practical advice on supporting children’s learning, language, and physical development.
At My School Child Care & Kindergarten, we know that every child is unique and capable of reaching their full potential with the right support. Our expert team of passionate educators is dedicated to creating an environment that stimulates curiosity, imagination, and the joy of learning through play. By providing engaging activities, hands-on experiences, and collaborative learning, we ensure that every child at My School develops critical cognitive, social, physical, and emotional skills.
Play-Based Learning and Individualised Care
Play is central to our approach at My School Child Care & Kindergarten. We believe that children learn best when they are active participants in their learning. Our play-based curriculum is designed to encourage exploration and creativity, allowing children to follow their natural curiosity while developing essential skills like problem-solving, social interaction, and independence.
Each child is an individual, and we tailor our programs to meet their unique needs, interests, and abilities. Our educators are experts in early childhood education, using the latest research and best practices to guide each child’s development, ensuring they feel supported and encouraged throughout their learning journey.
Supporting Families: The Early Years Count Resources
We understand that parents are their child’s first teachers, and we value the importance of strong collaboration between families and educators. The Early Years Count website provides a wealth of resources for parents, including tips and activities that support your child’s learning and development at home. These resources empower families to be actively involved in their child’s education, reinforcing the learning that takes place at our centre.

2026 Child Care Subsidy Update: Maximising Support for Families
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to share the most up-to-date information for 2026 regarding the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which continues to provide valuable financial support to Australian families accessing early childhood education and care.
At My School Child Care & Kindergarten, we remain committed to delivering high-quality education and care while helping families make the most of the support available to them.
Current Child Care Subsidy Settings (2026)
The Child Care Subsidy enhancements introduced in July 2023 remain in place in 2026 and continue to significantly benefit families by improving affordability and access to early learning.
Key CCS Features as at 2026
Higher Maximum Subsidy Rate
Families can receive up to 90% of their child care fees covered under the CCS, reducing out-of-pocket costs and making quality care more accessible.
Updated Income Thresholds
-
Families earning $80,000 or less may be eligible for the maximum 90% subsidy
-
For incomes above $80,000, the subsidy gradually reduces by 1% for every $5,000
-
The subsidy phases out for families earning $530,000 or more
These thresholds ensure that support is targeted while still assisting middle-income families.
Multiple Children Subsidy Boost
Families earning under $362,408 with more than one child aged 5 or under in care continue to receive a higher subsidy rate for their second and younger children, easing cost pressures for growing families.
Additional Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children are eligible for at least 36 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, supporting equitable access to early education regardless of parents’ activity levels.
These ongoing CCS arrangements ensure families across communities such as Slade Point, Park Avenue, and Mt Cotton can continue to access affordable, high-quality early learning at My School Child Care & Kindergarten.
Understanding Your Subsidy in 2026
The Australian Government continues to provide helpful tools and resources to assist families in understanding and managing their Child Care Subsidy.
Families can access:
-
Up-to-date CCS information and factsheets
-
Online services through Services Australia
-
